Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

The Microsoft CMT service was used for managing the peer-reviewing process for this conference. This service was provided for free by Microsoft and they bore all expenses, including costs for Azure cloud services as well as for software development and support.

It is necessary to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer and the publisher.

All Conference Proceedings and Journals published by the Hinweis Research Organization are dedicated to following best practices on ethical matters, errors and retractions. The prevention of publication malpractice is one of the important responsibilities of the editorial board. Any kind of unethical behavior is not acceptable, and the Hinweis Research Organization does not tolerate plagiarism in any form.

Authors submitting articles to the Hinweis Research Conference or Journals affirm that manuscript contents are original.

Duties of Editors

  • Publication decisions: The editors at Hinweis Research are responsible for deciding which articles submitted to the journal should be published. The editor may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and applicable legal requirements regarding libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism.
  • Fair play: Editors evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
  • Confidentiality: Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.
  • Disclosure and conflicts of interest: Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor's own research without the express written consent of the author.

Duties of Reviewers

  • Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and may assist authors in improving their papers.
  • Promptness: Any selected referee who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript, or knows that prompt review will be impossible, should notify the editor and excuse themselves from the review process.
  • Confidentiality: Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.
  • Standards of Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
  • Acknowledgement of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument has previously been reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation.
  • Disclosure and Conflict of Interest: Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.

Duties of Authors

  • Reporting standards: Authors of reports of original research should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately in the paper.
  • Data Access and Retention: Authors may be asked to provide raw data in connection with a paper for editorial review and should be prepared to retain such data for a reasonable period after publication.
  • Originality and Plagiarism: Authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works. If the authors have used the work or words of others, this must be appropriately cited or quoted.
  • Multiple, Redundant or Concurrent Publication: An author should not publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behaviour.
  • Acknowledgement of Sources: Proper acknowledgement of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work.
  • Authorship of the Paper: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All significant contributors should be listed as co-authors.
  • Authorship Changes: Authors are strongly advised to ensure the correct author group, corresponding author, and order of authors at submission. Changes to authorship after acceptance are not accepted.
  • Hazards and Human or Animal Subjects: If the work involves chemicals, procedures, equipment, human subjects, or animal subjects, authors must comply with all applicable ethical and safety requirements.
  • Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: All authors should disclose any financial or other substantive conflict of interest that might influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support should be disclosed.
  • Fundamental Errors in Published Works: When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they should promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate to retract or correct the paper.

Copyright Policy

All papers in the journal are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License , which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, including commercial use, provided the original work is properly cited.

Authors retain copyright of their work. Once material has been accepted for publication, authors may be asked to sign an author agreement confirming that they have the right to publish the material and granting Hinweis Research permission to publish their work online.

  • Authors retain the right to publish extended versions of their material elsewhere, provided the original publication is acknowledged.
  • Authors retain the right to publish their work in online repositories and internal technical reports.
  • Hinweis Research does not pay honoraria to authors.
  • Hinweis Research has the right to edit material to meet publication standards.

Repository Policy

Three versions of the Contribution are referenced in these guidelines:

  • Original Submission: The version submitted by the author before peer review.
  • Accepted Manuscript: The version updated to include the author's revisions after peer review and before typesetting.
  • Final Published PDF: The copy-edited and typeset Publisher's PDF, which is the same version published on the journal's website.

You may share the Original Submission or Accepted Manuscript at any time after your paper is accepted and in any format. Sharing may include posting a downloadable copy on a website, saving a copy in a repository or network, sharing through social media, and distributing print or electronic copies.

You may use the Final Published PDF, or the Original Submission or Accepted Manuscript, in the following ways:

  • In relation to your own teaching.
  • To share on an individual basis with research colleagues.
  • In your dissertation or thesis, including where the dissertation or thesis will be posted in an electronic institutional repository or database.
  • In a book authored or edited by you at any time after the Contribution's publication in the journal.

We recommend that the published source be cited whenever the Final Published version is used or shared.

Retraction Policy

When plagiarism or other serious publication misconduct has been found to have occurred, Hinweis Research will investigate the matter and take appropriate corrective action based on the circumstances and severity of the case. Authors may be held individually and collectively responsible for the content of a plagiarizing or otherwise misconducting paper.

Actions in case of plagiarism in a published article and proven misconduct

  • A letter may be sent to the authors involved informing them about the misconduct.
  • The author's university or department may be informed about the incident where appropriate.
  • Authors may be prohibited from submitting future publications to Hinweis Research, depending on the severity of the misconduct.
  • The published article may be removed from online availability where appropriate.
  • The original PDF may be replaced by a retraction notice.
  • Where appropriate, Hinweis Research may request correction or retraction from relevant indexing and abstracting services.
